The relationship you can see
Rituals of connection are how a relationship stays visible under logistics. They are what survives after the programme.
A ritual is a predictable, valued moment: the Friday chips, the Sunday walk, the last cup of tea, the way you say goodbye at the door. Families and couples with rituals report more shared meaning and recover from conflict faster.
Rituals do not need to be big. They need to be reliable. Fifteen minutes that always happens beats a holiday that might.
The end of the eight weeks is the point: choose the one or two rituals you will keep, and protect them.
Pick one thing you already do together and make it official. Put it in Rituals.
Where this comes from: Gottman, The Seven Principles (shared meaning); Doherty, The Intentional Family.
